Chop's Story

Chop, a 2-3-year-old Belgian Malinois, arrived at his foster's door in Sayulita, Mexico, injured, covered with fleas and ticks, looking for help. He received necessary vet care from Veterinaria Sayulita, including treatment for Ehrlichia. His head wound healed, he was neutered, and adapted despite missing toes on a back paw.

After a month of love and care, Chop escaped one night during a storm and couldn’t find his way back. He spent a couple nights with Sebastian, a nice man in town who fed him and gave him a dry place to stay. Then Chop took off again during loud thunder and pouring rain. He ended up at the AnimaLove clinic in town, after someone let him in from the rain. Marcia took care of him for a few days, putting an ad on Facebook for him.

A lovely couple ended up falling for him and taking him home! What a journey he’s had (and we don’t even know about his first couple of years)!

Lucky dog now has a loving home and human siblings to play with. Chop’s story went from heart breaking to heart warming because of so many animal lovers in Sayulita. His journey was truly a testament to the phrase “it takes a village.” We are so glad that he has found a happy home and pray it lasts forever.
